Business context
Fearless+ was already an education business when Numatic came on board, helping young people build real-world skills through structured programs. But the founders saw a clear gap.
Students completing those programs didn’t yet have a place to show what they had built — no real way to put their interests, activities, and growth into a digital identity, or to use that identity to find mentors, peers, and first work-experience opportunities.
The opportunity was a missing layer: a network and portfolio platform for people too early in their journey for LinkedIn. A space where students could start shaping a professional identity before they had a job title, build a first body of work, and connect with mentors and organizations on the other side of the network.
The challenge
Fearless+ had to work for users who don’t fit the assumptions of existing professional networks. Most platforms assume a CV, a job history, and a track record. Fearless+ users had none of those yet.
The product had to help students present themselves before they had the usual evidence — through their interests, activities, growth experiences, and short-form video — in a way that felt credible to mentors and organizations on the other side of the platform.
It also had to be commercially realistic for an early-stage business. The founders needed to keep moving on fundraising and growth while shipping a real product, which meant the build had to balance ambition with cost discipline.
Building something similar?
If you are taking a founder-led product from concept through live build and into practical AI features, Numatic can help identify the right next step.
How AI became part of the product
Fearless+ did not begin as an AI product. The early value came from how the platform captured a student’s profile — interests, activities, achievements, short-form video — and connected them into a real network.
AI entered the product later, when generative models were just becoming usable in real workflows. The most practical place to apply it turned out to be one of the hardest parts of the user experience: getting students to actually write about themselves.
That progression matters because it shows how AI was added in a practical way. The feature wasn’t bolted on as a marketing line — it solved a real onboarding problem the team had already seen in the data.
What Numatic delivered
Numatic acted as Fearless+’s end-to-end product partner across multiple years and stages of the business — from product definition through ongoing evolution and into the first AI features.
Product direction: worked with the founders to translate their vision into a realistic product strategy and platform structure
Core product build: designed and built the responsive web platform connecting students, mentors, and organizations
Ongoing product evolution: continued shipping features and improvements across multiple stages of the business as the live product matured
Practical AI: added AI-assisted profile generation that turned a student’s structured inputs into a useful first profile draft
Key AI capabilities
AI-assisted profile generation built directly on the user’s structured inputs — interests, activities, growth experiences — combined with optional notes the user could add
Removed the blank-page problem from profile creation by turning data the platform was already collecting into something immediately useful to the user
One of Numatic’s earlier examples of practical generative AI inside a live product, shipped at a point when most teams were still treating it as experimental
Outcome
Fearless+ ran in production as a live multi-year platform supporting students, mentors, and organizations through several stages of the business.
Took a founder-led concept from product definition to a real, live platform with multiple user groups
Built a portfolio and networking layer for users who don’t yet fit the assumptions of traditional professional networks
Added practical generative AI early — at a time when most products were still treating it as an experiment — in a way that solved a real onboarding problem
Acted as Fearless+’s single product partner across the full arc — from first concept through years of live operation and into its first practical AI features
