Business context

Kirk Seubert saw the opportunity to simplify that experience through software that could bring the workflow together end to end. But the opportunity was broader than homeowner organization alone. The product also needed to connect homeowners to trusted service providers inside the same system.

That meant building not only a homeowner-facing experience, but also dedicated product sides for service companies and servicers, with a built-in marketplace layer that could support discovery, coordination, and service delivery in a more seamless way.

The challenge

Kirk had deep firsthand knowledge of the home-services space, but he was not an engineer and needed a partner that could translate his vision into a product that worked in practice. There was also a significant platform-design challenge. Jack had to support multiple user groups with very different goals while still feeling intuitive for all of them.

Homeowners needed tools to organize property details, tasks, service history, and expenses. Service companies and servicers needed tools to receive work, manage communication, schedule activity, and complete jobs efficiently. The marketplace connection between those sides had to feel seamless rather than bolted on.

Building a product with multiple user groups?

What Numatic delivered

From a single founder insight, the product took shape across every layer:

  • helped turn the founder’s market insight into a workable product strategy and platform structure;
  • defined and designed a multi-sided experience for homeowners, service companies, and servicers;
  • and built the homeowner-facing mobile experience for iOS and Android.

That foundation expanded into a connected platform ecosystem:

  • built experiences for service companies and servicers across mobile and web;
  • supported the marketplace layer that connected homeowners with trusted service providers inside the broader workflow;
  • and continued evolving the product as the platform grew beyond the original concept.

How the work came together

1

Define the workflow

Numatic worked with Kirk to understand the real-world workflow behind home ownership, property management, service coordination, and service delivery, then translated that operational knowledge into a product direction that could serve multiple user groups.
2

Build both sides of the platform

The solution grew beyond a single homeowner app into a broader two-sided ecosystem. That included a mobile experience for homeowners and property managers, plus mobile and web support for service companies and servicers. The product was designed to connect those sides through a marketplace-style workflow rather than leaving service coordination outside the system.
3

Expand the platform

As the product matured, the engagement continued into broader product evolution. The platform continued to grow in scope and complexity over time as the ecosystem expanded and the product moved beyond its original first-release shape.

Outcome

It evolved into a connected product platform spanning multiple user types, delivery surfaces, and workflows inside a two-sided home-management and services ecosystem.
